INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
The college is endowed with excellent physical infrastructural facilities to support the teaching –learning process. The main campus is spread over 6.48 acres. The college has a spacious seminar/conference hall. There are adequate numbers of classrooms, separate departments, and separate departmental class rooms to facilitate the academic programmes. The infrastructure involves spacious class rooms, proper lighting and ventilation, seating arrangement with proper visibility for both students and teachers. There are common rooms for boys and girls separately. There is a special arrangement for canteen for students and staff, and there is an auditorium cum indoor stadium. The college has hostel facility for boys and a girl’s hostel is being constructed. The details of the facilities available with the institution are as under.
1. Technology Enabled Learning Facility:
The College has three ICT Classrooms where the provision of OHPs (Overhead Projectors), Multimedia Learning, Wi-Fi Connectivity is available. A new computer lab with 25 computers has been set up. The institute has set up a 25KVA eco-friendly silent generator for power backup to the campus during electric failure.
2. Conference Hall:
The College has one modern conference hall and it is regularly used for conducting meetings, group discussions, etc.
3. Laboratories:
The College has two laboratories in the Arts stream, one in Education department and the other in Geography department for conduct of practical classes during the session and in annual examination. New modern Science laboratories in all the science subjects available in our college have been set up. The college received funds from RUSA for construction of science laboratories.
4. Library Facility:
Raha College Central library has more than 26,000 books which include text books, reference books, journals; magazines etc. The library remains open on all working days from 9.00 AM to 4.00 PM. Photostat facility is available at a nominal rate for students of the college. A student is provided with a card with the facility to borrow two books at a time for 15 days. A major or honors student gets the privilege for borrowing 4 books at a time. Students are to follow library rules. State of the art Digital Library is another important feature of the library
1. Hostel Facility:
The College has one Boy’s Hostel within the college Campus. The number of seats available at present is 18. Hostel seats are allotted at the time of admission on the basis of merit. The girls hostel is nearing completion.
6. Canteen Facility:
The College has a canteen in the campus. Students can have refreshment in the canteen during the college hour.
7. Sports Facility:
The College has always created a niche for itself in the field of sports. In sports, the college provides indoor and outdoor games.
8. Outdoor Games:
A Spacious 2 acre play ground is available for outdoor games i.e., cricket, football, athletics etc. in the college campus. There are separate volleyball and badminton courts in the campus. A practicing ground with nets for cricketers have been set up separately.
9. Indoor Games:
Facilities for sports like Table Tennis, Chess, multi-gym, Carom, etc, are available to students. Gym facilities for both students and staff is available in tune with the Fit India initiative.
10. Auditorium cum Indoor Stadium:
The College has a modern and state of art acoustic auditorium. The seating capacity of the auditorium is around 600.
11. Class Rooms:
All the departments have their individual classrooms for taking major/honors classes. Besides, there are sufficient classrooms, some of them renovated recently through RUSA funds to facilitate students in their learning.
12. Departmental Rooms:
The departments have been provided with individual rooms so that teachers can plan their classes and other related educational and co-curricular activities.
13. Disabled friendly, barrier free environment:
There is ramp provision with built environment and one disabled –friendly washroom in the campus.
14. Green campus initiatives of the college includes the following:
Pedestrian friendly pathways, landscaping with trees and plants, ban on use of plastic, no tobacco zone, restricted entry of automobiles in the college campus. Raha College received “ Green and Clean Award 2020” from Anti-Global Warming Society. Morigaon in 2021.
